Pelican Cove's boat basin is easily accessible from the bay. It is
well-marked and goes directly in. There are kayak launch points in Pelican Cove and the waters are generally calm. To
access the Gulf of Mexico, you can go north then go out between Siesta Key and
Lido Key, or go south and go out the Venice Inlet.
